Spring vibes are here! Wanted to add a bit o’ green to this gorgeous Amelie mirror gifted by Arhaus, so I grabbed some greenery, floral wire and wire cutters and went to work! I love how it adds a touch of whimsy and spring green to the space, plus the mirror serves as such a lovely backdrop to the layered garlands. Here’s how to decorate a mirror with greenery

SUPPLIES:

For this project, you’ll need greenery garlands of your choosing, floral wire and wire cutters. You might also find command strips and finishing nails helpful, too.

HOW TO:

1 – Start by anchoring your base garland to the mirror using floral wire. If your mirror doesn’t have decorative trim with places to loop wire like this one, check the back of the mirror for metal prongs or hooks. If there still isn’t anything, either use command strips on the back of the mirror to loop with wire, or consider tapping a few finishing nails into the wall behind your mirror in order to give the wire something to anchor to before it is loaded up with garland.

2 -Working your way around the perimeter of the mirror, secure sections of garland using the wire. I fastened my garland to the mirror about every 12 inches to be sure I got the drape and shape I was going for.

3 – Once you have finished the base layer, repeat with any additional garland layers you might want! I used three layers here: one eucalyptus, one a blend of eucalyptus and white floral, and a final top layer of white and yellow wildflowers for dimension and depth.

That’s it! Truly, it was a pretty simple project once I got going, and I only had to stop and readjust a few times to get the shape and drape I was going for. I feel like this adds such a fun spring vibe to the space, and I love the idea of decorating the decorations, ha!
