Install Tooling (C) on both ends of the front axle assembly.
Attach a hoist, Tooling (B) and suitable lifting chains to Tooling (C). The weight of the front axle assembly is 6630 kg (14600 lb).

Remove twenty nuts (10) and the twenty bolts that secure the front axle assembly to the front loader frame.

Carefully lower the front axle assembly onto a suitable trailer or onto a piece of sheet metal.
Remove the lifting chains and Tooling (C) .
Pull the front axle assembly outward by using a suitable towing machine.Installation Procedure
Note: Make sure that the mating surfaces of the front axle assembly and of the front loader frame are clean prior to the installation of the front axle assembly.

Position the front axle assembly under the front loader frame.

Coat dowels (11) with 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound .
Slowly raise the front axle assembly. Make sure that dowels (11) are aligned with the holes in the front loader frame.
Install twenty nuts (10) and the twenty bolts that secure the front axle assembly to the front loader frame. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 1800 200 N m (1330 150 lb ft).

Replace the O-ring seals at the tube connections. Connect tube assemblies (8) and (9) to both service brakes.

Install guard assembly (7) on both ends of the front axle assembly.

Connect tube assembly (5) and hose assembly (6) .

Connect electrical connector (4) .

Align drive shaft (1) with yoke (3) .
Install four bolts (2). The torque for bolts (2) is 530 70 N m (390 52 lb ft).
Remove Tooling (A) from drive shaft (1) .
Fill the front axle housing and the final drive assemblies with oil. For the correct procedure, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine.
Purge the air from the front service brakes. For the correct procedure, refer to Testing and Adjusting, SENR1353, "992G Wheel Loader and 854G Wheel Tractor Braking System".
Check the oil level of the hydraulic tank for the steering system and for the braking system. For the correct procedure, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine.End By: Install the front tires and the rims.
