Why did I just have to order the 5th and the 6th ones of these?

This is an amazing concept and has made it possible for my husband to safely get out of a car with relative ease However, the metal critical part is made from pot metal (poured mould) as opposed to a solid piece of metal. They're brittle and break easily. One of them broke when the car door slowly closed on it while it was still attached to the door latch. The second one broke when it fell on the concrete floor of the garage. The 3rd one broke when my husband gave it a toss to the wooden workbench in front of the car. I'm talking about the metal support part, not the handle. Again, this is a great idea, but that L-shaped metal part needs to be made from something much sturdier. I'm about to try bending a reinforcement bar and putting it in the handle.

This is an extremely useful aid for people with mobility problems. It is very light weight compared to the heavy steel ones (which some may find too heavy to manage eg the eldely and those with wrist or arm injuries), my main concern is whether it will be able to last and wear as well as the heavier steel ones.....wait and see.

Initially it did not fit the door latch of my particular car. Luckily the shank is made of aluminium so it was easy to sand down a little to get it to fit. Even so, it is not sturdy enough for the the latch. Not sure it would fit better on other makes.
