Log in to your Google Analytics 4 property (I presume that you already have one. If not, read this tutorial).
Once you do that, click the gear icon in the bottom left corner of the Google Analytics 4 interface.
Then in the property column, click Data Streams.
Then select a web data stream that you see there (if you cannot find it, I will explain what to do in the next chapter of this blog post).
A new window will appear, and at the top-right column, you will see an ID that starts with G-.
This is your GA4 measurement ID. Copy the entire ID and paste it wherever you need it.
That’s it! You have found what you were looking for. However, there is a chance that you do not have the web stream. Therefore, you don’t have the measurement ID. In that case, continue reading.
If you don’t see a web data stream
This is not very common, but it’s possible. In the Data Streams section, click Add stream and select the聽Web data stream.
A new window will open here. You will have to enter the Website URL. Even if you plan to use the same GA4 property on multiple domains, here, you should enter just one of them. It really does not matter which domain will you add here.
Then enter the name of the stream, for example, “Main website”, “Mywebsite.com”, etc. Don’t worry, you will be able to change this later.
Click Create stream at the bottom of that window.
After that, you will see the Measurement ID at the top-right corner of the GA4 interface. It starts with G- and it might look something like G-1234ABC.
