Comedian and TV host Yoo Jae-suk is joining hands again with the producer of his longest-running show, "Happy Together," to launch a new variety show.
State-run broadcaster KBS said Tuesday that Yoo and producer Kim Kwang-soo are planning a new program, which is expected to air in the coming months.
"As Yoo and the production team have worked together for a long time, they are working (on this new show) using their strong bond and loyalty toward each other," KBS said. "Yoo is very excited to return to KBS after about a year, so he and the crew are putting all their effort into making it a good one."
This new variety show will be Yoo's first show with KBS since the talk show, "Happy Together," which was axed last March. The show ran for almost 19 years since going on air in November 2001 and became the longest-running talk show among Korea's three major networks ― SBS, KBS and MBC.
Yoo, whose entertainment career spans 30 years, had been the host of the show from the beginning.
Unlike "Happy Together," which was filmed in a studio, the upcoming show will be filmed in outdoor settings. The details of the show will be revealed in the coming days.
Yoo is currently starring in MBC's reality show, "Hangout with Yoo," SBS's "Running Man," tvN's talk show, "Yoo Quiz on the Block," and its spin-off show, "It's Party Time."
