Summer is here, with warmer temperatures, outdoor activities, vacations and family fun.
One of the biggest highlights of the summer outdoors is the Fourth of July. Many communities make a day of it with food, music and family activities before the fireworks at dark.
Here鈥檚 a list of fireworks displays across the region:
Onondaga County
Baldwinsville: Sunday, July 2, Paper Mill Island Ampitheater. A line up of classic rock bands begin to play at 4 p.m. before the fireworks at dark.
Brewerton/Cicero: Monday, July 3, South shore of the Oneida River between Route 81 and Route 11. Community celebration in the Kid鈥檚 Zone at Riverfront Park in Brewerton from 1 to 5 p.m.; boat parade at 3 p.m.; food, music and many other activities throughout the Brewerton area before the fireworks at 9:30. Fireworks can be viewed anywhere along the river.
East Syracuse: Saturday, July 8, East Syracuse Elementary School, 230 Kinne St. Food and entertainment from 6:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. before the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
Manlius: Tuesday, July 4, Village Center, Route 92. Food trucks and chicken BBQ begin at 4 p.m. Parade at 5 p.m., followed by entertainment at 6 p.m. before the fireworks at dusk.
Syracuse (NBT Bank Stadium): Fireworks follow the games on June 30, July 1, July 2 and July 3. See Syracusemets.com for tickets and info.
New York State Fairgrounds: Activities Friday June 30 through Sunday July 2. Carnival rides and treats on the midway start at 4 p.m. on June 30 until 10 p.m.; noon to 10 p.m. on July 1 and noon to 8 p.m. on July 2. Fireworks will be at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parking is free before 6 p.m., after 6 p.m. parking is $15 per car (credit card only, no cash.)
Cayuga County
Auburn: Monday, July 3, Emerson Park. Fireworks at dark.
Fair Haven Saturday, July 1, Fair. A day of events starts at 8 a.m. and ends with fireworks at the south end of Little Sodus Bay at 10 p.m.
Owasco: Tuesday, July 4. The Owasco Fire Department, 7174 Owasco Road, Auburn, will hold its annual barbecue starting at 10:30 a.m. and a parade at 1 p.m.
Cortland County
Cincinnatus: Sunday, July 2, various locations in the Town of Cincinnatus. Cincinnatus Hometown Days includes two days of activities July 1 and 2: rodeos, food, games and more, culminating in fireworks at dusk at the Fairgrounds on Sunday. See Facebook for a full schedule of events.
Preble: Saturday, July 1. Dwyer Memorial Park. Park opens at 8 a.m. for the Cortland County Independence Day Celebration. Food, music and vendors precede the fireworks at dark. $5 per car admission.
Virgil: 9:30 p.m., Monday, July 3, Hope Lake Park, Greek Peak Resort, Cortland. Fireworks show.
Jefferson County
Alexandria Bay: 9:45 p.m., Tuesday, July 4. Fireworks over Boldt Castle may be viewed from the riverfront
Clayton: Monday, July 3. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. along the waterfront.
Sackets Harbor: Tuesday, July 4, The Battlefield. Celebration during the day concludes with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Madison County
Cazenovia: Tuesday, July 4, Village of Cazenovia. 5 and 10 K races from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Parade down Lincklaen Street, west to Albany Street at 1 p.m. Live music at Lakeland Park begins at 4 p.m. before the fireworks display over the south end of Cazenovia Lake at dark.
Oneida County
Vernon: Saturday, July 1, Vernon Downs Racetrack. Fireworks at dusk are preceded by food trucks at 5 p.m. and harness racing at 6:05 p.m.
Ontario County
Canandaigua: Tuesday, July 4, downtown Canandaigua. Parade at 10 a.m. on Main Street begins at City Hall. Live music, food and farm fun precede the fireworks at dark at Lincoln Hill Farms, 2792 NY-247.
Oswego County
Oswego (City): Sunday, July 2, downtown Oswego. Parade at 1 p.m., then the Downtown Block Party begins at 2 p.m. with music, food and more. Fireworks over the Oswego River start at 9:45 p.m.
Oswego Speedway: 6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 300 East Albany St., Oswego. Fireworks at the conclusion of the races.
Tompkins County
Groton: 7 p.m., Friday, June 30, Groton Elementary School, 400 Peru Road. Food and a DJ before the fireworks display at dusk.
Trumansburg: 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, Inn at Taughannock Falls, 2030 Gorge Road. Parking available at Taughannock Falls State Park for the fireworks over the falls.
Wayne County
Sodus Point: 10 p.m., Monday, July 3. Fireworks display at 10 p.m can be viewed along the waterfront.
